Kunst-Schaukasten in Seeboden

The "Kunst-Schaukasten" (The Art Vitrine) is the most recent curated presentation format by Les Nouveaux Riches. At Hauptstraße 84 in Seeboden am Millstätter See, the association curates throughout the year an ongoing display of artworks from national and international artists. The "Kunst-Schaukasten" acts as an interface between art and the public, contributing a novel dimension to the public space.

Leonard Schwarz (*1997) lives and works in Vienna. He grew up in Leipzig and initially completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter. He has studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna since 2021. A strong colorfulness characterizes his works and oscillates between figuration and abstraction. Concrete forms are recognizable, combine with their surroundings, and dissolve into abstract areas of color.

The German artist Anna Kuen studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Daniel Richter. In her abstract paintings, large-format series with contrasting color compositions and angular and organic structures meet, often inspired by the landscape of her native Bavaria. Anna Kuen lives and works in Berlin. In addition to her work as an artist, she travels the world as a model and DJ.

Greta Pllana (*1992, Durrës, Albania) studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Her pictures arise from the intimacy between the present and the past. They can be read as peelings whose roots reach into the artist’s memories. In Seeboden on Lake Millstatt, the artist presents a work from the ‘Fiori Spinosi’ (Thorn Flowers). In this series, Greta Pllana places the thorns at the center of her work.

David Mase (*1986, Klagenfurt) devotes himself to painting, graphics, sculpture and site-specific installations. In his works, he explores the boundaries between abstraction and representationalism and processes contemporary themes in sometimes absurd compositions. accomplices is part of a series that deals with the dynamics of groups. Pastose areas of colour and abstract body parts merge into a scenery. The boundaries between people and landscape, identity and togetherness become blurred.

Kristina Mésároš (*1981, Šaľa) is a Slovakian artist who lives and works in the municipality of Scharndorf in Austria. In her work, she depicts the perception of the world around her in a narrative way. She is often described as a protagonist of magical realism or neo-romanticism. In Seeboden am Millstätter See she presents a work from the series „frozen“. This series thematizes the moment of full concentration, in which time seems to stand still, in which the unexpected awaits.

Marlene Heidinger (*1996, Vienna) lives and works in Vienna. She studied painting and animation film at the University of Applied Arts and the ÉCV in Paris. In her work, she deals with relationships, sociodynamics, and the question of privacy in modern media. In Seeboden am Millstätter See, she is presenting a work from the series „POLONAISE – dancing on the abyss.“ In this series, the artist explores a fundamental characteristic of festivals – their transience.
