The fair’s gateway will once again be the spacious, light-filled Jugendstiltheater, hosting a section of GALLERY STATEMENTS and leading into the Pavilions and the so-called Kitchen. This year, the Kitchen will serve as an exhibition space where the name quite literally sets the tone and defines its function, while a new section for EDITIONS will expand the fair’s program and is open to applications from exhibitors.
This year’s rescheduling of PARALLEL Vienna to September 9–13 responds to recent developments in the city’s art fair landscape and contributes to strengthening the visibility of contemporary art in Vienna, as the gallery festival curated by will also take place during the same week. The close timing of these two independent events creates a concentrated moment of international attention and further reinforces Vienna’s role as an important meeting point for artists, curators, collectors, and art professionals.
