Das MuseumsQuartier Wien sticht mit über 4,5 Mio. Besucher*innen als Exempel eines erfolgreichen Kulturareales heraus. Als Creative Cluster entwickelte es sich über 20 Jahre weiter und schafft heute mit über 60 Kultureinrichtungen nicht nur Raum für Kreativität und Austausch, sondern bietet vor allem mit der MQ Art Box eine Plattform für junge österreichische Kunst.

Klaus Krobath, verantwortlich für künstlerische Agenden, erstellt in Zusammenarbeit mit Direktor Christian Strasser das Programm der MQ Art Box und betreut die Projekte kuratorisch. Für ihn ist die MQ Art Box ein Vehikel im öffentlichen Raum, 24/7 zugänglich und soll Menschen Kunst näherbringen.

Gerade bei LUMEN von Johannes Rass fasziniert ihn der theatralische Aspekt, der durch die dynamische Performance von Licht und Sound gelingt und einen Überraschungseffekt innehat.

With over 4.5 million visitors, the MuseumsQuartier Vienna stands out as an example of a successful urban area within the cultural sector. As a creative cluster, it has continued to develop over the past 20 years and, with over 60 cultural institutions, now not only creates space for creativity and exchange, but also offers a platform for young Austrian art with the MQ Art Box.Klaus Krobath, responsible for artistic projects, creates the program of the MQ Art Box in collaboration with director Christian Strasser and then functions as the curator of the individual projects. For him, the MQ Art Box is a vehicle in public space, accessible 24/7 and intended to bring art closer to people. He is especially fascinated by the theatrical aspect of LUMEN by Johannes Rass, which thrives through its dynamic performance with light and sound and holds an element of surprise.
