in combination with two Open Studio Days on June 24 and 25 with the Studio Artists of our program as part of the festival of FOTO WIEN (June 1 – 30, 2023).

Residency period: June 1 – 30, 2023
Deadline for submissions: April 17, 2023, 5 pm CET

Currently, eight Vienna based artists work in the studios located at Hegelgasse 14. While some use photography to document their performances or drawing processes, others employ it as a field for experimentation, such as cyanotype. Some of the artists portray people or record urban changes. However, all of the artists share photos of their works and installation views on their website and social media. Photography is omnipresent in the daily life of an artist, it is impossible to get around without it. Following this year’s theme of the festival (Photography Lies), we would like to question where the truth ends and the lie of photography begins.

Application Guidelines: Curators who would like to be considered as candidates, are asked to submit the following documents in English or German (max. 10 MB) with the subject Curator in Residence 2023 to application@dasweissehaus.at
